- A film featuring Jack Johnson "Kokua" is a Hawaiian surfing, rock n’ roll, and
environmentally-themed film produced by Ira Opper for Fox’s action sport
network, FUEL TV has received recognition for outstanding achievement by the
National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences Pacific Southwest regional
EMMY® Award in the Visual and Performing Arts program category.
The
awards ceremony was held at the Omni Hotel, San Diego on June 18th, 2005

- Film about tow-in surfing featuring; Laird Hamilton,
Darrick Doerner, Dave Kalama, Tom Carroll,
Ross Clarke-Jones and Peter Mel. Shot on location in Maui at the big wave surf
spot Jaws. Derek was responsible for ENG coverage, Interviews, Land camera and overall story documentation.
