Salt Lake City, UT [February 28, 2002] – The Mountain Dew Ice Village, the
largest action sports and music festival blow-out ever assembled in the
United States, was in full effect February 8th through 24th in downtown
Salt Lake City, located right in the heart of the 2002 winter festivities.
The Mountain Dew Ice Village showcased exhibitions by many of the world’s
top action sports athletes and 17 consecutive nights of performances by
some of the nation’s best musicians, including The Roots, Nikka Costa,
Cake and George Clinton.
Every afternoon, the Mountain Dew Ice Village ‘Big Air Zone’ featured
exhibitions by many of the world’s top action sports athletes as they
launched spectacular aerial maneuvers on a 3-story quarter-pipe jump, a
BMX and skateboard vert ramp and freestyle motocross and snowmobile jumps.
By nightfall, the Mountain Dew Ice Village ‘Ice House’, a heated indoor
concert venue, transformed into a giant multi-colored Ice Cave that
featured an eclectic 17 night music line-up that included:

Additionally, throughout the Mountain Dew Ice Village’s two weeks of
activities, guests were treated to a state of the art interactive
entertainment experience. This included a twenty-five person video gaming
facility as well as multiple giant screens showing the latest music
videos, action sports features and NBC’s Olympic coverage.
